A BROTHER TO HEAR ME OUT Written in September 2009 I can’t sleep I’ve got to wait ‘til the night fills my eyes I’m gonna pray that it saves my life and in the morning... I may see Another point but it might be the lens You turn me on but you act like a friend Is that allowed? Oh, give me just five minutes ‘til I get it past my mouth Oh, give me just five minutes I need a brother to hear me out I need a brother to hear me out I feel your blood is rising I want your bottom line I hear the motor’s started You’ve got it in your eyes Tell me something that sounds exciting I’ll take it on the chin I see your head is turning Another ticket and we’ll try and win again I can’t breath My skin is burning and the sun hurts my eyes I hear the kids playing games outside But we’re in here I can’t swim I’m made of stone and my hands are tied I sent a bottle but it sank outside I’m holding on I hear the distant laughter From a far off source I see the shadows moving And the voice is yours But I can’t make magic And your name’s still here I’ll keep talking long enough ‘Til you… disappear

Crazy Babe 03:57
CRAZY BABE Written on the 14th May 2009 It’s crazy babe but we know the truth And they all think we’re wrong We’ll call when we’re ready Tell them when we’re coming home But none of that matters A walk by the sea Just reach out and touch it And you and I’ll see Now nothing is broken That we leave behind To get out of this madness I’ll trade you my mind I won’t ask for your blessing I find peace in a song I won’t ask for forgiveness We’ve done nothing wrong A call in the distance If they’re listening back home Looking over the ocean The waves and the foam All that has passed us All that will come I’ll never forget you Never again It’s crazy babe but we know the truth Takes a man to know he’s wrong It’s time and I think we’re ready Call them up we’re going home

CUT OUR TEETH Written in January 2009 Ask and you may receive What have you got if you don’t believe? I finally got what I asked for and it was nothing like what I need Won’t you give me a shout more often ‘cause we need to get out more often God’s in our corner now just like we both agreed We had barely time to cut our teeth Am I indebted ‘cause I just want to play? It all caught fire and it burned, for a day More reaction I want Less distractions Can you feel the attraction when you’re looking straight through me? Let me make a prediction now And show a little conviction now It’ll keep you awake at night Are you scared of what you cannot see? You’ve got your picture hanging on the wall I’m out of time but all I want to do is call This machine has headed me off

HEY COME ON NOW BE REAL Written in March 2009 Hey come on now be real These old wounds want to heal It’s a big job and they’re big shoes to fill Hey come on now be real Clever humour and wit… beats Blood, polish and spit I know that gentleman with whom you sit, It’s just humour and wit I’m an honest cheater trying to make a deal It’s just me and Saint Peter… And the court of appeal But it’s fine Hold the line I’ll got up ‘cause I’m certainly not… Ready to sign Hey come on now be real What’s the name of the girl? Whose innocence you expect me to steal, Hey come on now be real Did you believe I could sell? Well, Honey that’s just untrue I’ve got a lot baby riding on you… Did you believe I could sell? What if we were in love? And…these two poles weren’t apart And for a change I considered my heart What if we were in love? Then we’d be honest cheaters trying to make a deal We could talk to Saint Peter and see how he feels but it’s fine, it’s just our time We’d get up ‘cause we’re certainly not… Ready to sign.

LITTLE GIRL OF THE SUN Written in December 2008 & February 2009 Little girl of the sun I wish that you had come Ten minutes earlier Little girl of the sun You know you light up the room And everyone seems to move ‘Cause of what you are doing Lighting up the room Your little boy’s out in the rain He’s wishing that he’d stayed Ten minutes longer In out of the rain We’re selling everything Everything must go We’ve never worn a ring Bargain prices Shoes displayed across the floor Jacket never worn before We’re up against the wind He’s giving it everything He keeps blowing stronger We’re up against the wind Yeah he’s giving it all he’s got And he’s going red in the face We’re just gonna tighten the knot He’s giving it all he got We need the hot sun to dry our coats And it’s shining down across the road Stay ten minutes longer And the hot sun will dry our coats I’m leaving with you I knew as soon as you walked in That I just had to have you My little girl of the sun La la la Little girl of the sun Is that alright with you? I’m leaving with you I just had to have you My little girl of the sun

SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING JOHN MIGHT PLAY Sounds like something John might play One where he takes us miles away Or anywhere but here And the music makes it clear… That the ship in which we travel runs on cigarettes and beer Sounds like something John might play One where he takes us miles and miles and miles and miles away And I hope he takes us soon ‘cause it’s the only way for me out of this smoke filled room

THE MAKING OF A SAINT Written in January & February 2009 I’m trying to get out of this prison cell I can’t stand the cold and I can’t take the smell I’m biding my time ‘til the moment’s just right I beat a man senseless without a fight I’m trying to find my way out of a bind I’ve got a woman outside of a decent kind Waiting outside in a different kind of world Trying real hard to be my girl I couldn’t help but notice someone standing over It’s a long time since I Lord, said a prayer As the lights got lower and the voices faded out There’s the making of a saint right there Nothing in this world seems fair Take it all away man I don’t care I know I’ve only got myself to blame It’s a false confession all the same My head is right down and my nose is kept clean The walls have ears and those ears are mean On just one occasion I stepped out of line But you can’t take more than a whole lifetime

SHE PACKED HER BAGS IN SECRET Written in 2008 & 2009 She packed her bags in secret In an old worn out ruck sack Every voice inside her head said “leave and don’t come back” And it looked like he was sleeping, when she walked passed their bed She sat down on the corner and put her lips against his head She closed her eyes so tightly, that the tears could not get out But she started to remember and she started having doubts He said, baby I see you’re crying I know you’ve packed your things I noticed the first day you went outside without my ring I know just how you’re feeling, and I can only blame myself Because the man you knew and fell in love with grew into someone else I’m trying to make things easy, didn’t have the strength to write a note So I took out all my money and I left it in your coat

These Boys 03:16
THESE BOYS Written in February 2010 These boys and the world around them Toys...but hand still binds him More...and we’re not so eager Now...and we’re half as smart now You...and I have gone asleep And I...it’s clear I’m not asleep These things... and the world around us Now...the days got longer Worlds...and the sudden nature Sounds...and the urge to cling to War...we’ve got no time for war... We’ve got no more to give I’m asking nicely, more... I’m asking nicely
